Can you break down all the costs for me?
There are three separate costs you will incur when you take the HQL training. As the training company, our fee is $125.00 for four hours of training. The fingerprinting fee is $65.00 for mobile livescan fingerprinting. When you make application, the state of Maryland will charge you $50.00 for your HQL. This permit is good for 10 years.

So Fortress Training is a one-stop HQL training?
YES!! We help you all the way through. We will train and certify you, offer your fingerprinting services, and walk you through the application for the HQL. We will even provide you an opportunity where we will do the data entry for you. We even approve you while you are in the class. This is an all-inclusive training.

How long will it take to get my HQL from the state?
Maryland has up to 30 days to mail you your HQL. Many times it comes sooner, but they do have 30 days to get it to you.

I'm exempt from training what do I need to do?
Go get fingerprinted and immediately complete your application. You have 72 hours to enter your fingerprinting information into the system. If you have difficulty with the state application, you can either call the state police at (410) 653.4222, or if you wish, we are happy to have you fingerprinted before a training and help you with the application. We charge a $50.00 application assistance fee. You will be fingerprinted ($65.00) and your application will completed at the same time.
